Summary/Abstract: The objective of article was to identify a spatial hierarchy structure of the retailing network in the voivodeship (provincial) profile. That structure was, at the same time, the basis for identification of homogenous groups of voivodeships. The chronological scope of research allowed for observation of the direction and intensity of changes in development of the retailing network over time. In his article, the author used techniques of multidimensional comparative analysis. Interesting seem to be also results of the use of factor analysis as a method of construction of a set of variables describing the level of development of the retailing network in territorial units.
