Summary/Abstract: One of the main functions of fair (apart from the promotional and educational and trade function) is the town-creation (region-creation) function. To what degree these institutions influence development of towns and regions is decided by their attractiveness. That attractiveness, as, for example, tourist attractiveness, trade attractiveness, investment attractiveness, is a multi-aspect category and, therefore, should be measured with the use of multidimensional methods and techniques. An objective of the article is an attempt to answer the main question appearing in discussions of the fair circles in Poland and concerning the current hierarchy of national fair centres as well as related to this similarities or differences and grouping of the entire set into smaller subsets of relatively similar centres. In answer to the above-specified question, there were used methods in the area of multidimensional comparative analysis (MCA). The obtained results of analyses allowed for identification of a network of the fair centres in Poland, its structure and diversification into homogenous groups. Those results have significant pragmatic values, first of all, for the subjective side of the fair market systems both on the supply and demand side, particularly in the procedures of selection of fair centres and events.
