Institutional Support of Rural Municipalities Development in the Opinion of Inhabitants of the Protected Areas of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The crucial problems of the today’s world include, inter alia, the processes taking place in the natural environment not only because of the natural phenomena but also man’s activities. Problems of environmental protection in the protected areas are permanently discussed, especially in the context of development of these areas with preservation of the natural environment. Important for preservation of the natural environment and development in the protected areas is the institutional support for the local development in these areas. There is the necessity to retain a relevant relationship between the man and economy, on the one hand, and the natural environment, on the other hand, in order to reconcile development with protection. In his article, the author presented the opinions of respondents and author concerning support by institution of development in the protected areas of the Świętokrzyskie Province. In all the municipalities, residents highly positively assessed their municipal authorities; on the other hand, the respondents in all the municipalities (except for Kije Municipality) highly negatively speak of political parties and the central administration (an exception is Złota Municipality) in the context of their impact on development of the municipality.
