Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the quantity and area of Lithuanian cemeteries and geographic locations of cemeteries. Information from Lithuanian municipalities about the cemeteries in their territories is summarized for the first time. All burial places in Lithuania are grouped into five groups. The characteristics of these groups are discussed. Cemeteries are analysed as the landscape objects having distinct elements and various differences.
