Evolution or Revolution – Which Approach Is More Efficient In Innovation Process Development?

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the assessment of the effectiveness in scope ofcontinuity of innovation process improvement in Polish industrial enterprises. It concernedrelation between applied approach: evolutionary and revolutionary of process improvementand number of innovation and achieved competitive advantage. In case of innovation typesresearch covers: product, process, organizational and marketing as well as innovation scale:company level and global level. The presented research results refer to a 92 medium andlarge Polish industrial companies and data cover years 2012–2014. Main results indicatethat evolutionary approach has greater influence on achieving competitive advantage andeffectiveness in creating product innovation. However revolutionary approach towardsinnovation process improvement is more effective in case of creating other types ofinnovation.
