Assessment of Health Life Expectancy in Poland

Summary/Abstract: One of the methods of evaluation of mean length of life in good health was developed by D.F. Sullivan. Sullivan’s method involves constructing tables of Health Life Expentancy span on the basis of demographic data and the data obtained from representative opinion polls. The purpose of this article is trying to find the answer to the question as to the way perception and evaluation of population’s health depends on other (economic) aspects of the quality of life. In the article, Sullivan’s method is used to determine average life span in Health Life Expectancy for the population in Poland.
