Public real estate as a field of management research

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the problem of the real estate as an interdisciplinary area of research within the field of economics and management. Because of the author's research interests, range of studies has been limited to public property (property of the State Treasury and local government). The article presents the literature review based on 40 papers published in two Polish real estate journals (“Real Estate Management and Valuation” and “World of Real Estate Journal”) and 13 papers presented during European Real Estate Society conferences from 2010 to 2015. According to this research we can conclude that public property management is a new and developing sub-discipline with separate methodological issues. The paper closes with suggestions for future research in this field.
