Summary/Abstract: Professional archive staff in registry offices are an important precondition for a succesfull accomplishing of basic tasks of archival and office work. Creative and professionally trained staff are necessary for proper working, in order to fulfill set tasks succesfully. Since there is no course for archival profession in regular education system in our country, it is essential to spend permanent additional professional traning and qualifications of an archivist through the contents of the professional courses, conferences and seminars. However, in order to solve the state of protection of register material completely in an adequate way, and thus complete and fulfill basic aims which are in front of the archival profession, it is necessary, besides staff issues, to also solve properly an is- sue of the status of archival activity, since it would significantly affect a change of relation of holders toward his own material. Educated and professionally trained staff in registry offices will essentially affect the solving of complex tasks of archival profession.
