Summary/Abstract: The paper takes up the question of the character of the undeclined forms of possessive adjectives ending in -ovo/-ino, which are typical of Southwestern Czech dialects, with regard to some other petrified possessive forms in Czech in synchronic and diachronic aspects. The author develops the ideas of J. Vachek and compares Czech adjective forms with the genitive case in German. It is shown that those formations, despite their different origins, display essential correspondence which appeared as a result of the contact between both languages in this part of the Central European area. The author gives also rare examples of possessive forms in two Czech dialects spoken in the Northern Caucasus and in the Middle Irtysh area of Russia.
