Summary/Abstract: This paper clearly presented that archives and the entire archive activity have a number of elements of administrative functions and that a small number of state institutions from the scope of the administrative bodies can be placed in a higher plane than archives when it comes to the exercise of administrative functions. It is particularly important to note, that all the administrative functions of archives established and designed on the basis of clear rules, with the aim of adequate protection of public interest of the State. For the successful implementation of these regulations, it is necessary that the external service archives and administrative inspections in many things accompany and supplement, and at the same they undertake clear regulations in the field of archives and office operations that are interconnected and conditioned. The joint action of these services to achieve far better results than the previous, and legal and natural persons would commit itself to far more serious approach to this issue and to respect the obligations arising from the provisions laid down regulations.
