Summary/Abstract: Content analysis of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the European Union (EU) is relevant and significant for socio-political reality in Moldova, recognisng the impact of European assistance on national economy, on citizens' living standards. The author describes three interpretations of the association: the form of assistance for development; a preliminary stage of accession to the European Union, and an alternative to EU membership. Moldova-EU Association Agreement aims at political association and economic integration of Moldova on the basis of community values. Political association aims to promote peace and security at international level, to promote peaceful settlement of disputes. Moldova's economic integration into the EU’s internal market is attainable through the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). In conclusion, the author demonstrates that Moldova-EU Association Agreement provisions have a positive impact on the development of national economy and modernisation, and maintenance of the Moldovan government's political dialogue with the Council of Europe and the European Commission will lead in time approaching of Moldova's integration in the EU.
