Summary/Abstract: From among the many challenges that the developing dialectal phraseology faces, researchers have frequently pointed to the need for studying the phraseology of separate dialects and compiling phraseological dictionaries of a given dialect. This could eventually result in compiling a single dictionary of Polish dialectal phraseology (cf. postulates voiced by Treder, Krawczyk, Czesak, Sobierajski, Rak). Various methodological solutions have been proposed. First of all, it was proposed that the new phraseological dialectal dictionaries should use the semantic order (not the typical, alphabetical order). Such method gives priority to the meaning and enables the lexicographer to present specific collocations as embodiments of a given sense. Other researchers have pointed out that such solution allows to show the richness of folk phraseology, as well as the diversity of synonyms and stylistic variants. The author contests the idea of compiling a semantically-ordered phraseological dictionary and identifies the problems resulting from employing such order.
