Summary/Abstract: A model of synthetic nation creation in the state- law ground of former Yugoslavia will experience its intensification in the very first days of breakdown of SFRY with recognition of former Yugoslav republics’ state independency. We will especially endeavour in our work to conceive explanatory model of synthetic nations which isn’t theoretically shaped enough. We will also endeavour to explain the example of Croatian national identity formation, both diachronic and synchronic dimension and factors of its creation.
