Celebration of Ritual Year: Verza (Summer Day) and Shëngjergji (The Beginning of Summer) in Opoja and Gora

Summary/Abstract: In this paper there are shown some local traditions on how are celebrated in Ritual Year, Verza (The Summer Day) and Shëngjergji (The day that celebrates the beginning of summer), in Opoja and Gora. Through examples from the field as well as brief interviews that were conducted with local residents, there were brought evidence of the continued presence of these traditions in these areas.
