THE GORANI AND THEIR IDENTITY

Summary/Abstract: Gora is one of the geographical and ethnographical regions of Kosova, which occupies the southern edge of Kosova, which in the east and northeast is surrounded by Opoja, from the southwest, west and northwest is surrounded by Luma and from the southeast by Macedonia. Thus, regarding the origin of the Gorani population, there are different and contradictory opinions. One opinion is that the Gorani have their origin from the Bogumiles, while another is that they have Albanian origin, but there are also thoughts influenced by daily politics which say that the Gorani have Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Turkish origin.
