Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to highlight a few aspects about the usefulness of two bilingual (Romanian-French and French-Romanian) dictionaries of religious Orthodox terms (that we published in 2010), as well as about the cultural stakes of their publication. One of these stakes was about giving value to the religious aspect, recovering it and helping it to get the place it deserves on the cultural scene, from where it had been banished in Romania for too long, for historical and political reasons that are already known. The two dictionaries prove themselves to be useful as regards translation (of specialized Orthodox texts as well as literary texts with religious references), interpreting, specialists in fields such as theology, the sociology or the history of religions, religious anthropology, French-speaking linguists and lexicographers.
