Summary/Abstract: The rehabilitation pedagogy whose broad subject of interest covers the upbringing reality with the objects (intuitions and people) and facts (complexes of events) is usually described as a theoretical science, a part of the social sciences or as the system of upbringing activities in regard to the persons with the impaired social adaptation having use in practice. Both these descriptions are closely related since there is no progress in theory of rehabilitation without an advanced and modern organised practice and vice versa. Outside the theoretical and practical aspects, in the rehabilitation pedagogy existing is the third aspect: rehabilitation axiology and teleology. That's why one can say about the third understanding of the rehabilitation pedagogy as a postulate science formulating and justifying a certain type of recommendations, objectives and values that are desired when it comes to upbringing or tutoring. Because of that it is proposed to understand the rehabilitation pedagogy in a broader way, without limiting it to only one of the aspects, recognising that its scope covers three clearly separated functionally related layers: axiology with teleology, theory of upbringing and methodology of upbringing influence.
