Summary/Abstract: The relationship between a teacher and student, an educator and the one who is educated, is of crucial importance for the success of the educational process. It is, above all, based on mutual love and respect. In addition, the pedagogical relationship must also be imbued with the ethical standards that define the behavior of participants in the educational process. Abu Hamid al-Ghazali was one of the Muslims’ philosophers and pedagogues who emphasized the great importance to this issue within his theory of education. This work presents the most important pedagogical and ethical standards of teachers’ and students’ behavior (adab), which El-Ghazali elaborated in his works.
