THE ROLE OF THE SUMMER SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND DIFFUSION OF KNOWLEDGE IN THE MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the subject of the acquisition and diffusion of knowledge as the most important resource of modern organizations in the academic context. For the representatives of management sciences such a mission is being fulfilled by the periodically organized conference – the Summer School of Management. The article contains an overview of the Summer School of Management, outcomes of the survey carried out among management science specialists from the Polish research centers and members of Polish Academy of Sciences (Komitet Nauk Organizacji i Zarządzania Polskiej Akademii Nauk). Moreover the following article presents the network analysis of the conferences: Summer School of Management in Ryna (2010), in Boszkowo (2014) and in Kudowa-Zdrój (2016). The aim of the article is to introduce a role of the Summer Schools of Management in the context of acquisition and diffusion of knowledge in the management science discipline.
