Summary/Abstract: Interests are a very important problem of contemporary pedagogy and education, due to the poly-functional significance in the development of man. Yet, now they remain to be issues discussed more often in everyday life and during everyday experience rather than become the nucleus of deliberately undertaken (for example, interdisciplinary) scientific research. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to draw attention to the problem of interests by applying not only the systemic description of the view of its essence, types and functions in the life of an individual, but also putting forward the postulate for empirical research also in the systemic optics and in accordance with the key thesis of systemism – “everybody about everything”. A systemic paradigm creates opportunities and bases for a methodologically newer solution – a vertical-horizontal development and conducting research into interests, thus, in a parallel and simultaneous, but also superior, equivalent, or subordinate way within pedagogy, psychology and sociology, which in such a broad perspective should foster not only the integration and coherence of knowledge in all those fields of study, but also an improvement of the quality of the process of shaping and supporting the interests of man at different age.
