Summary/Abstract: In the context of the many challenges and threats of the modern civilization the family seems to need more and more support and assistance that will help it restore social functioning and awaken hope for a better tomorrow. In the sectors of social life there are many aid institutions,but among them increasingly important in giving help is social work which, acting at different levels, tries to help people overcome problems in the personal,family and social spheres. A special role is played by the social worker as a professional in the field of activities for the family. His activities include conducting therapy,counseling for families in general and counseling for children, young people and older people in the family
