Summary/Abstract: The article compares typologies of utterances in the Polish and the Slovenian language. It presentsthe typology of Polish utterances according to selected criteria, namely according to: (1) presenceand form of the statement, (2) number of centers of predication, (3) position of the sender of theutterance content. The article also explains selected terminology from this field and compares Polishtypology and Polish syntactic terms with their Slovenian equivalents. The comparison showeddifferences not only between languages, but also within these two languages, which results from theuse of different division criteria or the characteristics of the different language systems. It will alsoimprove understanding and, above all, ensure the correct meaning of some syntactical problems inboth languages and will be helpful for Polish-Slovenian comparative studies in the field of syntax.
