Summary/Abstract: The article discusses presentation, representation and simulation as ontological states of image. To identify and describe these statuses the author analysed Ch. Wulf’s, J. L. Marion’s, J. Baudrillard’s texts. The article discusses a relation between image and the crisis of reality. A specific attention is given to the case of icon as an image which presents. This article investigates the power of an image to establish, restore and deny reality, it also analyses the ontological potential of the phenomenology of image.
