Summary/Abstract: The biblical narration and the Talmudic teachings have a sociobiological and anthropological background. For this reason the Torah and Halakhah can be seen as a sort of representation of the historical-evolutionary path of the Jewish people and society, as well as of the construction of Jewish identity. The cultural and theological debate in the Jewish Italian community during the 17th–18th centuries, and the impact of a new vision of Nature on God’s image, give us an original perspective on this topic.
