Summary/Abstract: The article touches on the rapidly growing field which is e-commerce. At first it describes the basic conditions affecting the development of this area and the main indicators of its potential. The next part focuses on presenting the current state of e-commerce development in Poland and in Denmark on the background of other, selected countries. In the final part, a brief assessment on the situation regarding the use of e-commerce in the two, surveyed countries was done.
