Summary/Abstract: Revitalization is a complex process including spatial, social, and economical changes introduced to devastated urban locations. It mainly concerns city centers. In some cases revitalization may lead to gentrification – a process, which is generally defined as a neighborhood change that encompasses economic change in the form of increases in both real estate investment and household income. The main goal of this article is to examine the financial context of the relationship between processes of urban revitalization and gentrification – taking as an example the City of Szczecin.
