The realisation of sustainable development concept vs. local-level spatial planning

Summary/Abstract: Spatial planning is commonly identified as a key instrument for establishing long- -term, sustainable frameworks for social, territorial and economic development. It is also seen as an important instrument for achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life. Nevertheless, the example of maritime communes of The West Pomeranian Voivodeship – especially the analysis of sustainable development main indicators – does not confirm the substantial role of spatial planning in this process.
