Summary/Abstract: The language of science is not a rigid and homogeneous construct. It is an organism with multiple faces. A clear delineation of the sublanguages of science is by no means obvious. The term the language of science conceals a large set of languages which undergo a continuing process of development and are therefore difficult to explore. Considering the above, the primary purpose of this paper is to attempt to uncover some divisions of the language of science and to indicate the existing gaps in research.
