Summary/Abstract: Knowledge-based economy is an economic system that has a high development of information technology, technological progress and innovation. However, the primary distinguishing factor KBE is a science and knowledge as the basis of any economic change. This is why there are important goals for the educational system, which must shape the society that recognizes the principles of competition, showing a tendency towards innovation and constantly proliferating their knowledge and expertise. In this context, it is important to know the attitudes, preferences, aptitudes and orientation of students in Poland in the context of their future participation in the modern economy, human resources and “usefulness” for the development of knowledge-based economy.
