Summary/Abstract: The independent theatre has revealed itself to the contemporary artists as an essential requirement for protecting this beautiful inner flame that can be captured only inside the marvelous space of creativeness. The independent theatre is no longer willing to accept art as deprived from the very depths of truth or from the dramatic present time in order to prevent the artistic fact from its further development.A vivid theatre means a theatre of courage and of assuming that the world is changing its routes radically. Theatre should unite and facilitate common interests. It should support and contribute to the unchaining of the human being from its own conceitedness.Theatre, as part of performative arts, is the only guiding light through the tunnel built by the contemporary society on the ground of restraining and watching people’s free mind and spirit. The Romanian theatrical society seems to recover strength and to reject the so-called museum values that are pernicious to deprive theatre from truth and vivacity. The independent theatre has the force to destroy a cultural shield built around arts in the name of a nostalgic past. The independent theatre brings back the spiritual nurture and heals gradually the wounds created by a cultural society which has been long time addicted to a budgetary screen.
