Summary/Abstract: Portable Theatre in the European Context aims to highlight a form of independent theatre, created by a group of young actors who want to create theatrical projects with social implications. These projects, with and for young people, should enjoy everybody, performers and the public, as they are performed in unconventional spaces, pointing out that the cultural manifestation of theatrical type may take place anywhere and anytime. Thus the act of creation reaches also the underprivileged masses with the aim to form cultural aesthetic taste, through theatrical means. Also, by birth of the Portable Theatre we deal with an increasing diversity of new, non-traditional theatrical forms of expression, in Romania, with potential expansion towards Europe.
