Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the issue connected with the social pedagogy in the context of economicalchanges. The purpose of this article is to present the origins of the philosophical, political andsocial ideas and their influence on the pedagogic. The role of social factors in pedagogy was andstill is very important. The first social thinkers and pedagogues – Jean-Jacques Rousseau, JohannHeinrich Pestalozzi, Johann Bernhard Basedow, Charles Booth, Simonde de Sismondi, ClaudeHenri Saint – Simon, Robert Owen, Octavia Hill, Samuel Barnett, Jane Laure Addams and MaryParker Follett – had a great influence on the early development of that field.
