Summary/Abstract: In this article I attempt to analyze in detail one of the earlier Socratic dialogues, called Charmides. The title exhibits the main idea, namely definition and definiteness, and lack of definition and indefiniteness as leading, contrary notions in the analysis. In other words, close research of the explicit arguments, given by Socrates and the other participants in the discussion, is followed through the dialogue. On the other hand, there are many places, which are present, but not explicitly said or hinted by the main interlocutor. Thus, my aim is to find, analyze and prove them right, if possible. This is not a reference to the unwirtten doctrine of Plato, but a try to make hidden arguments revealed.
