Summary/Abstract: The author introduces the fifth issue of “Autobiography” in the context of the seventieth anniversary of the presence of Polish literature in Szczecin. In this framework, he pays a particular attention to the role of poetry of Tymoteusz Karpowicz in describing the post-war Western Pomerania. Karpowicz not only left us his own poems describing Szczecin, but initiated the course of avantgarde presentation of our city.
