Summary/Abstract: There have been numerous translations of Ivo Andrić’s work, by Bosnian as well as foreign translators. However, very few analyses of those translations have been produced. This essay is a short overview of the English translation of Ćorkan and the Tightrope Walker by John K. Cox. The selected passages are illustrative in terms of specific lexis and how it was treated by the translator, as well as the overall atmosphere, tone and tenor present (or not present) in the translation.
