Summary/Abstract: According to its mission, school should cultivate intellectual, creative and esthetical gifts of students. It should also shape their will power and honesty, support sense of worth, correct attitudes and wise behavior. It should inform the students about the cultural legacy inherited from previous generations, prepare for professional life and encourage spirit of collegiality. Modern school cannot limit itself to teaching. In order to ensure that the students receive well-rounded formation, it must also participate in bringing them up. One may say that school is predestined to take part in formation of characters of its charges. School cannot shun moral values and actions that lead to formation of conscience of its students. The youth need to be prepared to develop their characters through realization of these values. Not only proper development of youth demands such attitude, but also the very realization by the school of its mission. It is impossible to provide Christian formation and education on the sidelines of school education.
