Summary/Abstract: There are dissertations awaited for a variety of reasons.Some, as they have been announced or advertised, yet you maybe disillusioned with their content, some are desired since we sharepassions or research interests with their author or authors. We haveso many peripheral dissertations in pedagogical literature referringmainly to superficial diagnostic surveys that finding thoroughly developedresults of diagnoses, preceded by a reliable interdisciplinarytheoretical analysis and research strategy projects may become a goodlesson of research workshop not only for subsequent generations ofresearchers but also for pedagogy students. A team of researchersfrom the Faculty of Educational Studies of the Adam MickiewiczUniversity in Poznań and the University of Zielona Góra, supervisedby prof. Maria Dudzikowa in the first decade of the 21st. century presentedus the results of their studies on social capital – unique in thefield of humanities and social sciences – the issue which is measuredalong the line of life and development of the first year group of lowersecondary school students
