Summary/Abstract: The article covers the characteristics of selected demographic changes in the Mazowieckie voivodship at the communes level in relation to changes in their socio-economic development level. There have been a typology of communes taking into account changes in the value of the synthetic index of development (z i ) between 2004 and 2010, and the value of the average annual net migration and natural increase in 2011–2013. The situation of rural communes was shown in comparison to other types of communes.
