Summary/Abstract: The subject of undertaken considerations is the issue of the status of economic knowledge. The author reconstructs the epistemological assumptions of methodological concepts and ways of understanding and solving the problems of development and testing the scientific knowledge. The aim is to identify the epistemic status of knowledge within the meaning of orthodox economics and to provide alternative ideas in the form of a constructivist approach.
