Summary/Abstract: Information is crucial for efficient functioning of the labor market. Empirically, the information which reaches the market participants is incomplete and inapplicable. These are many employers who face troubles with finding adequate employees. In spite of being widely recognized in theoretical concepts of the labor market, from practical point of view this fact is usually overlooked. The role of information is partially reflected in some efficiency wages theory models and in the social capital theory. The information shortage constitutes additional cost for the enterprises which are connected with recruitment process. As it is impossible to eliminate them, employers resort to salaries stimulating labor efficiency and employing acquaintances which limits the extent of the job advertisements and an unemployed person has little chance to find any of them.
