Summary/Abstract: In today’s world Orthodox theology has been challenged by new dimensions of life. The Church that has been under attack for many centuries by various oppressors that wanted to overtake Her voice developed an exit strategy. That strategy that helped the Church and its theology to survive has been “spiritualization” of the world’s troubles. But the process of spiritualization engulfed some theological disciplines in order to make them relevant only for individual believers, but not for the society at large. This paper discusses the role of the theology in the modern world in its search for alternatives to the prevailing culture.
