Summary/Abstract: This study is a field study about the recognition of Yeseviyyat and maintaining it among the new generation born after Kazakhstan gained independence. The study population consists of the students of the Faculty of Pedagogy of Taras in the district of Southern Kazakhstan. it was conducted to determine the level of interest and knowledge of Yeseviyyat among the students of the Faculty of Pedagogy. The field sample consists of 82 undergraduate and 23 master students and includes 42 male and 63 female students. In the implementation, a questionnaire consisting of 19 questions was administered to the students without taking their genders into consideration. It was found that all the participants had knowledge about Yeseviyyat and the percentage of the students stating that they had received the first information about Yeseviyyat in the school, in the family, in their community or through reading themselves were determined to be 61.56%, 15.49%, 9.85% and 14.08% respectively. The percentage of the students stating that Divan-i Hikmet was written in Old Turkic, Arabic or Persian was found to be 61.97%, 25.35% and 9.85% respectively whereas 1.40% stated that they had no information about it. The percentage of the students stating that they had and had not read Divan-i Hikmet was found to be 52.12% and 47.88% respectively.
