Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the works of Gabdulla Tuqay as interpreted by the Udmurt poet Gaj Sabitov. It is revealed that Gaj Sabitov’s translations sound in unison with Tuqay’s texts. The translator approached the original with care, but at the same time deliberately made some additions and changes in the translation. The analysis shows that the Udmurt translations give a clear idea of the imaginative worldview of the Tatar classic and his individual style.
