Summary/Abstract: Each organization, regardless of its management awareness, shapes the employees’ attitudes. This is how dynamics of interpersonal relations works and it is unavoidable. Knowledge of human behaviour is the prerequisite of effective work and good financial standing of a company. The market position depends mostly on employees’ beahaviour, which has no substitutes that could neutralize its positive or negative impact. Psychology of attitudes provides the practical hints on how to encourage employees to behave in a way favourable for a company. It is worth influencing the attitudes in thoughtful way that is beneficial for the company. The article consist of two main parts. The first part describes the meaning of attitudes. The second part refers to practical implementations of knowledge about attitudes for design of organizational work safety improvement programmes in mining companies.
