Summary/Abstract: The popular mythology of the Albanian people, which represents one of the oldest and most original parts of the cultural heritage, claims in many respects the attention of several sciences: history, ethnology, aesthetics, linguistics and culturology. It is true that well-known historical circumstances have made it impossible to fix it in documents written since antiquity, that is to say, at a time when mythology was living an active life and circulating in an emphatic form. All the same, there are several direct or indirect sources which confirm the long life of an ancient mythology of the Illyrian tribes.The medieval period thus becomes the carrier of a sort of mythological symbiosis, formed by the influences between ancient primitive mythology and Christian and Islamic mythology. This mythological symbiosis and its survivals have continued to persist until late, in new times, naturally in the sphere of history. and popular beliefs.
