Outline of Goodman’s Understanding of Metaphor’s Role in His Theory of Reference

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to elucidate the context and the relationship between Goodman’s understanding of metaphor and its properties and the exemplification. The first part focuses on the symbolic reference which is exemplification. In the second part of the study we focus on a problem of metaphorical exemplification and we also outline some of the ideological perspective of Goodman’s concept of metaphor.
