Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to point out some theoretical and historical connection between the philosophies of Antiquity, Renaissance humanism and later Jesuit education. These topics underline the importance of rhetoric where the issue of human dignity, free will and learning objectives converge the Humanist ideals and Spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola together. These ideals are still relevant challenges and give us the opportunity for the development of Jesuit education today.
