The Glossary in Matthew Vlastar’s Syntagma (Manuscript 1/19 15th Century from the Library of Rila Monastery)

Summary/Abstract: The present article examines the linguistic structure of the text Латинскиѥ рѣи which is one of the additional texts accompanying Matthew Vlastar’s Syntagma. In a bilingual dictionary an unknown translator gives the Slavonic equivalents of the Latin juridical terms and phraseology. The author’s observations are based on a copy of the 15th century in the library of Rila Monastery. This is an attempt to follow up the process of adoption of the written juridical culture with the help of concrete lexical material.
