Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the international conventions in the field of cultural heritage, signed by Bosnia and Herzegovina . However, in Bosnia and Herzegovina there is no uniform legislation when it comes to protecting the cultural heritage of the country. There is only the Commission to Preserve National Monuments established at the highest level, which is prepared for the proclamation of cultural properties as national monuments, and in accordance with the relevant criteria. Historical Archives of Sarajevo has filed an application to the Commission to designate their funds and collections, part of library materials as movable property as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
