Summary/Abstract: In the archival institution and according to archival theory inventory represents scientific, intelligence and information tool that is developed for each regulated and technically processed funds and archival collections. There are different types of inventory, depending on how much information you provide about a particular fund, respectively, the content of which is subject of inventory development (general, summary, analytical, and the summary and analytical inventories). In making an inventory, there are certain methodological principles to be respected. This article discusses the process of inventory on the "classic" mode, and in accordance with modern standards and the application of information technology, current status, opportunities and needs in this direction.
